Sometimes when there is a difficult problem you have to sit down for a while, think through it thoroughly, decide how to split it and how to put all the pieces together. And sometimes this work really well, and it feels really good.

But sometimes the problem is really complicated and we’re not sure what a solution even looks like but we of course we want to do a good job so we try to plan it out, but really we’re stalling because we are afraid of doing a bad job.

I think sometimes it’s best just do to bad job, get your hands dirty make a mess, because now you understand the problem a little bit better and when you do it again it will be better than last time.

But you must actually do it again, or else all you’ll have is the mess you made the first time. It kinda sucks starting over again but often times you do a lot right the first time and that stuff helps.
